Fresh Halal Salads Singapore | Turkish & Lebanese Salads at Zuzu Bussorah Street
A Turkish or Lebanese meal does not start with the grill. It starts with what is already on the table. Five salads made fresh daily in Zuzu's Muslim-owned halal kitchen on Bussorah Street tabbouleh packed with parsley and lemon, fattoush with its sumac-dressed vegetables and crispy bread, çoban (shepherd's salad) as clean and direct as it sounds, beetroot salad with mixed greens, and a simple Arabic salad that earns its place on any table. All five are plant-based, all five are halal, all available for dine-in at 45 Bussorah Street, Singapore 199463, next to Sultan Mosque, or ordered for islandwide delivery.
Our Daily Fresh Salads
Tabboulah — $15.92
Tabbouleh is a Levantine salad where parsley is the main ingredient, not a garnish. Finely chopped fresh parsley and mint carry the dish, with diced tomato and a small amount of bulgur wheat, dressed in olive oil and lemon juice. The result is light, acidic and herb-heavy very different from the grain-forward versions served at some restaurants. This is the authentic ratio: mostly parsley, very little grain.
Arabic Salad — $11.92
The most accessible salad on the menu at $11.92 and the one that shows up on every table in a proper Arabic or Turkish meal. Diced tomato, cucumber and onion, dressed with lemon juice and olive oil clean, simple and built to work alongside anything. It is the salad that makes a grill plate complete and a mezze table feel right.
Fattoush Salad — $15.12
Fattoush is a Levantine bread salad and the sumac dressing is what defines it. Mixed salad vegetables lettuce, tomato, cucumber, radish, spring onion are tossed in a tangy sumac and lemon dressing and topped with pieces of toasted or fried khubz (flatbread) that hold their crunch in the bowl. It is a more textured and sharper-tasting salad than the Arabic Salad, and the one most likely to convert someone who thinks they do not want a salad.
Beetroot Salad — $18.32
The premium salad in the collection at $18.32. Mixed greens and fresh beets, dressed lightly. Beetroot salad in a Turkish and Mediterranean kitchen tends to be cleaner than the Western version the beet does the work without being buried in heavy additions. It is the right order for a table that wants something different from the three Levantine salads alongside it.
Shepherd's Salad (Çoban Salatası) — $17.52
Çoban salatası shepherd's salad is one of the most common salads on a Turkish table, and it earns that place by being exactly what it is: finely chopped tomato, cucumber, green peppers and onion, dressed with olive oil and lemon juice. It is uncomplicated on purpose. The ingredients are fresh, the dice is fine, and nothing masks the quality of what is in the bowl. The slug for this product already includes the Turkish name a useful organic signal for diners searching for the authentic dish.

Why Our Fresh Halal Salads Are Worth Ordering
- Made fresh daily — The collection is named "Daily Fresh Salads" for a reason. ⚠️ Confirm with kitchen before publishing: are all five salads prepared fresh on the day of service, not pre-made the night before? If confirmed, this is a genuine quality claim worth stating clearly.
- Muslim-owned and 100% halal — Every salad is prepared in a Muslim-owned halal kitchen with no pork and no alcohol at any stage. The answer to "is there a halal salad in Singapore?" is yes, and it is on Bussorah Street.
- All five are naturally plant-based — No meat in any preparation. Suitable for vegetarian and vegan diners without modification. Pair with our Vegetarian Set Meals for a complete plant-based order.
- Turkish and Lebanese recipes, not generic greens — Tabbouleh, fattoush, çoban salatası and Arabic salad are distinct dishes with names and culinary histories. These are not salads built from a generic template.
- Fattoush is the order for first-timers — The sumac dressing and crispy bread make it the most texturally interesting of the five. It is also the one most likely to make someone rethink what a restaurant salad can be.
- Pairs best with the grill section — Every Turkish charcoal grill at Zuzu is better with a salad alongside it. Add an Arabic Salad or Shepherd's Salad to the table before the grills arrive.
- Dine in or order delivery — 45 Bussorah Street, next to Sultan Mosque, near Bugis MRT Exit B. Free delivery over $100 islandwide.
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Fresh Halal Salads
Is the salad at Zuzu halal?
Yes. Zuzu is a Muslim-owned restaurant and every salad in this collection is prepared in a 100% halal kitchen at 45 Bussorah Street, Singapore. No pork and no alcohol is used in any preparation. All five salads are made from plant-based ingredients, so there is no cross-contamination concern from meat. For any dietary questions before ordering, WhatsApp Zuzu at +65 9845 5545.
What is Fattoush salad?
Fattoush is a Levantine bread salad from the Lebanese and Syrian kitchen tradition. The base is a mix of fresh salad vegetables typically lettuce, tomato, cucumber, radish and spring onion dressed with a tangy sumac and lemon dressing. What distinguishes fattoush from other salads is the crispy pieces of toasted or fried flatbread (khubz) folded through it, and the sumac: a ground berry with a sharp, citrusy flavour that gives the dressing its signature taste. Zuzu's Fattoush Salad is $15.12 and one of the most distinctive salads on the menu.
What is Tabbouleh?
Tabbouleh (also spelled tabboulah or tabouleh) is a Levantine herb salad, not a grain salad. The dominant ingredient is finely chopped fresh parsley not bulgur wheat. A small amount of bulgur is included for texture, along with fresh mint, diced tomato, and a dressing of olive oil and lemon juice. It is light, acidic and herb-driven. The authentic version is mostly green from the parsley; a tabbouleh where the grain dominates is a diluted version of the dish. Zuzu's Tabboulah is $15.92.
What is Shepherd's Salad (Çoban Salatası)?
Çoban salatası pronounced "cho-ban" is one of the most common salads on a Turkish table. It is a finely chopped salad of tomato, cucumber, green pepper and onion, dressed simply with olive oil and lemon juice. The word çoban means "shepherd" in Turkish, and the salad takes its name from the simplicity of its ingredients the kind of thing a shepherd would have in the field. It is clean, light and built to complement grilled meat. Zuzu's Shepherd's Salad is $17.52.
Are the salads at Zuzu vegetarian or vegan?
All five salads in this collection are naturally plant-based no meat, no fish, no animal products beyond the dressing components. Tabboulah, Arabic Salad, Fattoush Salad, Beetroot Salad and Shepherd's Salad are all suitable for vegetarian and vegan diners. ⚠️ Yese Beetroot Salad include feta cheese and honey in the dressing this for vegan guests specifically.
